Advanced Setup (Element Identification and Mark)

Plates/Rim Joists/Girders


Common Settings


  • Print Plate Mark (x) on (x) Side of Frame - controls activation and location of the Mark, configured in the Mark tab. Unticking results in no mark being printed on the element. Once ticked, you can also choose on which side of the element Mark should be printed on in relation to how they are placed on the table:

    • Left - side facing the table (BVX reference side 3).

    • Right - side perpendicular to the side facing the table (BVX reference side 1).

    • Inner - side facing the fence (BVX reference side 4).

    • Outer (default) - perpendicular to the side facing the fence (BVX reference side 2).


  • Print Plate Position Mark (x) on Connected Element (x) Side of Frame - controls activation and location of Position Mark, configured in Position Mark tab. Unticking results in no mark being printed. Once ticked, the option will print the mark of the plate elements onto other connected elements. You can also choose which side of the element Mark should be printed on in relation to how they are placed on the table:

    • Left - side facing the table (BVX reference side 3).

    • Right - side perpendicular to the side facing the table (BVX reference side 1).

    • Inner - side facing the fence (BVX reference side 4).

    • Outer (default) - perpendicular to the side facing the fence (BVX reference side 2).

    • Connected - line will be places on connected element on the side where two elements meet.

    The marks will be aligned with the edge closer to where the connected element is.

Currently only Outer option is functioning correctly. Other options will still result in Outer option being chosen. Please contact our support for more info. No position marks will be placed if Width Orientation is chosen to be Fence Side in Export Settings.


  • Print (x) Plate Position side layout Mark - currently not available.


  • Project (x) Plate Position side layout Mark to (x) Side of Frame - currently not available.


  • Print Plate Position Lines - prints plate position lines onto connected elements.

    • Rotated Plates for Connected Elements are evaluated - currently not available.

    • Plates which cut Connected Elements are evaluated - currently not available.


Mark


Here are the options to help you configure mark by combining different parameters together:

  • Available Parameters ( 1 ) - lets you choose available valid parameters to form your mark from.


  • Mark = ( 2 ) - here you can see parameters currently selected to be used to combine mark from.

    • Parameter Name - shows parameter name for reference.

    • Prefix - here you can enter desired prefix to be used before selected parameter value.

    • Suffix - here you can enter desired suffix to be used after selected parameter value.


  • Add/Remove ( 3 ) - these buttons lets you add or remove selected parameters from either table.


  • Up/Down ( 4 ) - these buttons lets you move parameters in Mark = table to reorder them.


Marking Text Settings - here are the options to control the size and position of marks on the element. Choices made will fill parameter values for TextOutput processing:

  • Text Size - lets you choose the desired text size. Sizes are predetermined according to the BVX format specification. Check with your machine provider if it's the same for your equipment. If the chosen text size is bigger than the area mark will be printed at, your machine will adjust it automatically.

Default BVX Text Sizes

(Might differ for your machine. Test or check with your machine manufacturer)

Very Small -> 12.7 mm

Small -> 25.4 mm

Large -> 50.8 mm

Larger -> 76.2 mm

Very Large -> 101.6 mm

  • Text Position - lets you choose the desired position for the mark to be printed on your element according to how it is placed on the table:

    • Both - you will receive two similar marks on each end of the element.

    • Center - one mark will be placed in the middle of the element.

    • End - one mark will be printed on the left end of the element.

    • Start - one mark will be printed on the right end of the element.

  • Text Position Offset - lets you choose the offset value, to move the mark away from the position chosen. If Text Position is Center, this value will be ignored.

  • Text Height -

  • Text Position - lets you choose the desired position for the mark to be printed on your element according to how it is placed on the table:

  • Text Cross-Meas Offset - controls the distance the marking should be from the surface of the table. Correcponds to "Cross-Meas" parameter in BVX.

  • Horizontal - controls text placement horizontally in relation to the markings origin point. Corresponds to "TextAlignment" parameter and it's options in BVX.

  • Vertical - controls text placement vertically in relation to the markings origin point. Corresponds to "TextPlacement" parameter and it's options in BVX.

  • Text -


Element Filtering


  • Structural Framing – lets you create a filter for framing elements that need to be excluded from exporting. Activates by ticking the option Automatically skip filtered out Elements option in Common Settings.


  • Wooden Detail Filtering – lets you create a filter for parts that need to be excluded from exporting. Activates by ticking the option Automatically skip filtered out Elements option in Common Settings.

Tip: Filter should be configured in a way of what you want to keep and not what you want to exclude.
