Siding Nailing

Here options are present to control how the siding elements of your assembly are going to be nailed

Filters

  • Nailers Filter – lets you create a filter based on parameters to exclude certain nailers. Siding elements are not going to be nailed to filtered-out nailers.

Note: Filter should be configured in a way of what you want to keep and not what you want to exclude.

  • Siding Filter – lets you create a filter based on parameters to exclude certain siding elements from being nailed.

Note: Filter should be configured in a way of what you want to keep and not what you want to exclude.

Tip: Filter should be configured in a way of what you want to keep and not what you want to exclude.

Main Options

  • Interior Offset – moves all non-border nails by offset from the middle of the nailer. Positive values move nails to the right (side nr.3) while negative values move nails to the left (side nr.1).

  • Split End Offset

  • Free End Offset – moves the last nails, from the siding boards ends by set distance.

  • Nailing Type/Device Index - machine-specific code to control and customize various aspects of how the processing is supposed to be performed.

Tip: Siding Nailing tabs has to be used in conjunction with Nailers and Siding Filters in order to work. Each siding element can only be controlled by one tab. If element meets conditions for more than one tab, the leftmost tab will have the priority and others will be ignored.

Layout

Let’s you configure at what positions nails are supposed to be placed, number of nails and spacing:

  • Layout Direction lets you choose a nailing layout:

    • Center – nails are aligned with the middle of the siding board with fixed nail amount and spacing.

    • End – nails are aligned with the bottom of the board for horizontal siding or the right side of the board for vertical siding.

    • Start – nails are aligned with the top of the board for horizontal siding or the left side of the board for vertical siding.

    • Start End – nails are aligned to both sides of the siding board.

  • Start Offset – lets you choose an offset value from the element edge once the “Start” layout direction is chosen.

  • End Offset – lets you choose an offset value from the element edge once the “End” layout direction is chosen.

  • Layout Rule – lets you choose according to which inputs the nails should be placed:

    • Fixed Number & Fixed Spacing – both fixed number and spacing is taken into account.

    • Fixed Spacing/Maximum Spacing – only fixed spacing will be taken into account.

  • Fixed Number – lets you choose a number of nails required.

  • Fixed Spacing/Maximum Spacing – lets you choose spacing between nails.
